I am from Nottingham. I went to Bristol University when I was 18 to study history, watch Going For Gold and listen to The Smiths.

I loved the west country so much that I moved to Bath when I graduated. I am married and we have an ageing cocker spaniel called Monty. We have recently moved down the road to Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire.

I used to like taking Monty on long country walks, but he is now getting too old to do anything more than dawdle around the streets of Bradford on Avon.

It is always good to see friends, to listen to good music, to read good books and I also like taking photos.

Going on holiday is fun too, as is enjoying all the seasons and running or cycling along the Kennet & Avon canal.

I became interested in web design after buying my first Mac. Macs are a joy to use and encourage creativity.

Similarly the internet is an inspiring place. It is rapidly changing.

There is improved access via the prevalence of broadband. It is hugely democratic. Anyone can participate and contribute. New technologies mean that there is always something to learn.

Everyone will have an involvement in the internet. I want to help facilitate that, and to help people understand what the internet can do for them.
