This month, I am going to write about websites relating to Bradford on Avon.
The Bradford on Avon Tourism Association website has recently been updated and includes a very good short video of the town. This website is an excellent resource for what’s on, accommodation for visitors and it has a directory of local businesses.
The Bradford on Avon Community Website is written by members of the community and is a great place to find out about the latest town news and events. You can contribute your own news, community events, pictures and comments if you register with the website. The more people who actively participate in the website, the better it will become. It also has links to the Wiltshire Times News for the town.
Another local community website is the Bradford on Avon Arts Network, which is a social networking website for local artists.
For those of you who wish to keep up to date with the Town Council, you can find their website at www.bradfordonavontown.com. The Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust website provides information on their good work around the town and it has pages on each project that they are involved in.
You can find out about the Kingston Mills at the Linden Homes website. However, this has not been updated since last November when they gained approval for their proposals.
Fix My Street enables you to report, view, or discuss local problems (like graffiti, fly tipping, broken paving slabs, or street lighting). If you report a problem, they will forward it onto the local council and you can track progress on the website. This website is brought to you by MySociety.org who develop a number of excellent websites which encourage you to get involved within the local community.
We Love Local is a relatively new website which lets you look up local businesses such as plumbers or restaurants. You can read or write reviews and rate them so you can help other people make an informed choice.
As always, you can find links to all of these websites at www.del.ico.us/gudgeon
